Michael Frayn’s “Noises Off” has been a favorite of many directors, actors and audiences, and the possibility of doing this production on the IPAL stage was dreamed of more than once.  But the idea that a two-story set, with such height and depth, could ever be created on the IPAL stage was beyond what some thought possible.

However--after seeing IPAL’s “Chicago” set take form, it was realized that this dream could be a reality.

Because of the complexity of the show,  Katherine Caffery and I decided to co-direct, and bring Ryan Berard in as assistant director in order to bring this award winning comedy to IPAL’s awesome audiences.   “Noises Off” presents a play consisting of an impatient director and his mediocre actors who are preparing for a tour of a silly sex comedy titled “Nothing On”.  The farce—a play within a play--has been proclaimed by many to be one of the most brilliantly crafted lunatic comedy in years, chocked full of non-stop hilarity and a meticulously crafted portrayal of theatrical chaos. As directors, we are thankful to have been blessed with such a cooperative, hard-working, and supportive cast and crew. Each rehearsal was such a joy as we all watched and experienced this incredible show come to form.

We thank all of the supporters who have helped make this production possible, especially The First National Bank of Jeanerette And Zloop for their sponsorship.  Thank you to all IPAL Members who give of your time and monetary gifts. Your generosity makes greater things possible for IPAL and its audiences. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
